This page explains the cookies and similar technologies (like local storage) that North Shore BBQ uses, what they do, and how you can control them.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser so it can remember information about your visit. We also use browser local storage, which works similarly but doesn't get sent back to our servers with every request.
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary (always on)
These are required for the Site to function and cannot be turned off in our system:
- Authentication cookies — set when an authorized owner signs into the admin dashboard. These keep you signed in during your session.
- Security tokens — Google reCAPTCHA (via Firebase App Check) and Cloudflare Turnstile each set short-lived cookies to verify your browser when you submit a form. Without these, forms cannot be submitted.
- Cart state — if you add items to a cart, your cart contents are stored in your browser's local storage so they survive page refreshes. Nothing is sent to our servers until you check out.
Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies, including blocking all third-party cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may break form submission, sign-in, and other site features.
For more information, see your browser's help documentation:
Changes
If we change the cookies or similar technologies we use, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
